Beyond The Car
At Chariots4Hope, we believe that it goes WAY beyond the car. Yes, reliable transportation changes lives, but some of the greatest blessings happen after the blessing! They happen around dinner tables, on kickball fields, at bible studies, and in the simple moments where people choose to do life together.
Last week, families from our Chariots community gathered for our annual Kickball Tournament. It was an evening filled with laughter, kids running around, friendly competition, and memories that remind us of the importance of community!
Because while transportation provides freedom, community provides a sense of belonging.
Former recipient Heather Moore, who attended the event with her family, shared:“The Chariots community has been great for my family and me. We don’t have any family here, so this has been such a great group to be welcomed into. We aren’t supposed to be alone in this life, and surrounding ourselves with such a great group of people who also believe in Jesus is such a blessing! Looking forward to many more years of beyond the car events!”
This is such a beautiful reminder. In a world where loneliness is becoming increasingly common, God designed us for something different. He created us to live in community, to celebrate together, carry one another’s burdens, and create memories that our children will remember for years to come. There’s something special about watching kids play alongside one another, parents sharing stories, and friendships forming between families who may have otherwise never crossed paths.
Moments like this remind us that ministry isn’t just about meeting a need. It’s about building relationships. It’s about creating a place where people are known, loved, and welcomed!
A Challenge for All of Us
Who are you doing life with? Not just who you see occasionally, but who truly knows you? Who celebrates with you, prays for you, and walks beside you when life gets hard?Maybe community looks like inviting another family over for dinner. Maybe it’s joining a small group, serving at church, or simply saying yes to gathering with others when it’s easier to stay home.
Whatever it looks like, don’t underestimate the power of showing up for people. The greatest gifts God can give aren’t always things but people! And what a blessing it is to make memories together, beyond the car.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another.”
Hebrews 10:24-25
