Recently featured on the Under the Hood podcast by Chariots for Hope, Brett opened up about his battle with alcoholism, the rock-bottom moment that changed everything, and how his life was restored through Christ.

Struggling with Addiction and Loss

Cassie’s battle with substance abuse began at a young age, a generational cycle that seemed impossible to break. Moving between California and Nebraska, she faced instability and struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction. When she lost her brother—the person she was closest to—grief overwhelmed her, pulling her deeper into addiction.

As the world shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, so did her sense of control. Depression and substance abuse led to devastating consequences, including the loss of custody of her children. Feeling hopeless, Cassie spent two years on the run, trapped in a cycle of addiction and survival.

Overcoming Addiction and Finding Faith

Brett’s struggle with addiction spiraled to a dangerous place — drinking nearly a handle of vodka a day, isolating himself, and losing control. The turning point came after a health scare and an emotional realization on the anniversary of his grandfather’s passing.

That day, Brett checked into Valley Hope, a rehabilitation center in Nebraska, where he began detox and a new life. Through a blend of medical care, counseling, prayer, and spiritual support, he experienced deep healing. Brett recalls a moment in the chapel, writing a letter to God, and finally saying, “I give up. I need You.” From that day forward, everything changed.

Faith-Based Business: Invictus Auto Care

Today, Brett is the co-founder and owner of Invictus Auto Care, a faith-driven auto detailing and mobile car service company. Invictus, which means unconquerable, reflects Brett’s mission to serve customers and employees with excellence and integrity — all while living out biblical values.

With services like ceramic coating, paint protection film, window tinting, oil changes, and mobile detailing, Brett has built a reputation for quality and trustworthy service in the Omaha area. His goal? To use his business to not only succeed, but also make a difference in the community.

Giving Back Through Chariots for Hope

Brett partners with Chariots for Hope, a non-profit organization that removes transportation barriers for individuals and families in need. Every time he details a donated car, he prays over it — and over the person who will receive it.

“These stories are personal,” Brett says. “I see my own past in the people Chariots serves. And I want them to know there’s hope, just like there was for me.”
