UNITED BY HOPE

For Emakile, receiving a vehicle means so much more than having a way to get from one place to another. Two years ago, Emakile and her parents left the Congo and began building a new life in the United States. For those two years, their family lived without a vehicle of their own. Every trip to work, every appointment, and every everyday responsibility required extra planning, extra help, and extra sacrifice.

Two Years Without a Car

Referred to Chariots4Hope by CIRA, Emakile worked to establish a new life for herself and her family. She earned her permit, worked toward her driver’s license, and found employment, all while navigating the challenges of starting over in a new country.

But without reliable transportation, getting to and from work remained a constant barrier. For a mother working hard to provide for her baby, that uncertainty carried a heavy weight. After two years without a vehicle, the relief of finally having dependable transportation is a weight that is off her chest!

The Beauty of Culture

One of the most beautiful parts of Emakile’s story was watching people connect despite speaking different languages.

There were different languages, different experiences, and different journeys represented in the room. But even through the barrier you could see the heart for Jesus Emakile and her family has! What a beautiful picture of the body of Christ: people from different backgrounds and cultures coming together to celebrate what God has done!

Barriers Removed

This vehicle represents freedom, confidence, opportunity, and a new sense of independence for Emakile and her family.

It means she can get to work reliably. It means greater stability for her baby. It means fewer transportation barriers and one less burden standing between her and the future she’s worked so hard to build. After two years of depending on others for transportation, Emakile can finally move forward with confidence!

We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with CIRA and for the opportunity to walk alongside Emakile during this chapter of her journey. Her story reminds us that transportation is powerful. A vehicle can remove a barrier, open a door, and give a family room to breathe again. And sometimes, God uses four wheels to remind us that He has been with us every step of the way!
